Dedicated to Kenton Bar Estate and the Kenton Bar Pyramid. Situated to the north west of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Kenton Bar is a housing estate that is part of Kenton Ward in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is situated next to North Kenton, Cragston Park and Cowgate. It was the product of the architectural partnership Gordon Ryder and Peter Yates. ReplyDeleteDiscuss: Why did the lights have a black top and a white bottom only shedding light downwards? Remember too that the light was WHITE and not the ghastly sodium yellow that is prevalent these days.
I will go back and see as ordered...but I think they may have got rid of all of the lovely old streetlights with the beautiful white snowy light...and replaced them with the horrible sodium yellows...But if I find one I shall photograph it...
ReplyDeleteps: I remember horrible ruffians from down the bottom found out how to open them(the original lovely lampposts) up and change the time setting so they came on during the day and were off during the notchy...
I heard a rumour that a wooden iced lolly stick was a handy too for such opening maneuvers.........
