Can
you make a mention that there is a great service provided by Newcastle
Council called "Envirocall" where you can voice any environmental issues on
line and they get it sorted - it may be rubbish, damage to the
building, abandoned items, vandalised bins or even icy pavement etc. The

You
report it on line and get a reference number and therefore you can
track the outcome. It is a great way of dealing with problems. It has
been tested and they actually have done several jobs we had asked for.
People may think that things have got to be the way they are and that
council doesn't care, but from our experience they just don't know about
issues, but when they do, they have it fixed it in most cases.
