Bonfire Night 2

The blog received yet another email from the' another anonymous tortured soul '...he/she is getting to be a regular contributor, so thank you AATS!...even though I deplore your dreadful tales...
Here he/she is wittering on about a Bonfire Night anecdote...most appropriate!

'I remember long ago me and a mate of mine decided to create the biggest bonfire ever-at that time they were building all the garage showrooms etc down on the Kingston Park Industrial Estate-so there was a load of wooden planks lying around the building sites-we began to 'collect ' them in the dead of night-we stored all the wood in my mates garage(a split level)-I tell you, we FILLED the garage with wooden planks-so, on beautiful Bonfire Night we assembled our glorious mega bonfire down in the cornfields across nearby Hazeldene Ave in the fields-without a shadow of a doubt it was the biggest, best bonfire ever-we had spent months and months on the project-it rivaled the new(at that time) organized bonfires I tell you-but...the local populace could see it and before we knew it all these horrible sensible adults types with their horrible kids had gathered round it before we had a chance to light it-the next thing we knew they took over the show, and they lit it!-this broke my heart-they were not invited-we had done all the work-how very dare they-I seem to recall we stood back glumly in the deep shadows-then as glorious darkness and deepest night drew in(and they left) we 'salvaged' some of the burning embers from the fire that they had defiled by their fell touch and retreated deep into the dark fields and rekindled a smaller version that we were the masters of, not horrible grown up types-never again did we bother to go to all this effort...'
