plans

we are doing swimmingly...I do believe we have all the plans for all the houses except the cube flats, long flats and 4 bed roomed houses...
Incidentally I just remembered a long forgotten feature of the long flats(eg the ones that stuck out onto Kenton School field from Hartburn-near the lovely step pyramid)...as a matter of fact I loved these flats-the design was fantastic-anyway, the thing I remember that I had forgotten was that in the front room there was like a concertina door that you could pull out across to make the massive long front room into 2 separate rooms, a lounge and a front room...anyone else remember that?

  1. Can we have a scetch of this door please? Was it fully glazed or did it have a horizontal transom? Was it painted white? Maybe you still remember. Thank you. D

I am no architect...I am just a cook, a lowly lowly cook-I have no idea what a 'horizontal transom is...I just looked this up on the internet and it seems to be something to do with windows...no this concertina door was opaque, made of like rubber, grey and when pulled across separated the one room into two...you could not see through it!...it was like a fan, concertinaed and ran along a pulley system in the roof...hope this helps

  4. Alas the veil of the mists of time render my recollection of this door at Kenton School of which you speak vague and unclear...if only we could get the plans of those flats...conversely a brave but misguided fool could knock on a door of one of these flats and ask to take a photo of the door...actually I'll ask my contact on the estate to do this asp...this person may know someone who lives in these type of flats-are the one's at studdon walk(where the map was) and the flats at Ryal where the step pyramid and table and chairs the same type as the Hartburn flats we are wittering on about?...

  5. Shades - yes it was the same style as the one at Kenton School. The old fool GOM has no brain and therefore no memory

  6. Update on the concertina door:apparently according to mein contact it became popular for some or all of the residents to have had them replaced with a horrible internal wall...if only someone could send us a photo of this mindless act of vandalism or indeed the beautiful original door we will deliver you a pyramid badge...
