Odd graffiti on cube flats
I spotted this odd graffiti on top of a block of cube flats...... I wonder how they managed to get up there?...
Dedicated to Kenton Bar Estate and the Kenton Bar Pyramid. Situated to the north west of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Kenton Bar is a housing estate that is part of Kenton Ward in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is situated next to North Kenton, Cragston Park and Cowgate. It was the product of the architectural partnership Gordon Ryder and Peter Yates. The blog is particularly interested in the architecture of the estate and also to hear anecdotes from Kenton Bar residents past and present
Go back and get a proper, clear, photograph. That is an order.

ReplyDeleteI must say the the colour scheme of the flats is horrible now. In my recollection it used to be a high contrast colour scheme - like a giant licorice Allsort, the one that was square shaped with a black stripe in the middle
ReplyDeleteIn Rutters book there is one on p43(its black & white)...the underwindow panels were smart blue not white while the wall rendering was not this insipid colour-light grey I recall...3 horizontal white lines underscore the underwindow panels-long gone on this shumbling and cally specimen...disgraceful...restore her to her former glory councilmen...do it NOW!
ReplyDeleteit hath been painted over by the council...
