  1. A truly wonderful photo...I love the angle of the shot...interestingly you can see that once the oligarchical Tory government of the 80s let people buy their council home, the proud owners immediatly put up low wooden fences to mark out their boundry...GET OFF MY LAND!
so here we can see who are the home owners and who are the council tenants...
    thank you so much fancythat!

  3. Mensforth - yeah - I was a child of one of those capitalist buyers of proletariat property. I am sad to say though that we had the misfortune to live next to the most awful group of plebs that I have ever come across. The monstrous sons of the family were tearaways, the father and mother did nothing but drink and smoke. My god they even had NO FENCE around their horrible garden.

    A ghastly experience.

  5. What happened next was the council tenants(if they could be bothered) simply followed suit...that is to say they also put up fences...did they bother about planning permission?...I dunno...so now you had fences everywhere, with no uniformity of style...

  6. Whoops, there goes the neighbourhood. People even started to put up TV aerials in the socialist utopia.
