I will take the ring...though I do not know the way...
Shall I ?...should Mensforth go to:
RIBA Archives at
RIBA headquarters at 66 Portland Place, London....
Shall we sort this out once and for all...?
Shall we solve all missions impossible if possible?...
Its a long way down...

Balthasar,
ReplyDeleteYou do realise only me and you can vote?...even so I just tried and it didnt work!
Melchior...
Never mind - a shite idea anyway
ReplyDeleteIt may well take more than one visit, Memsforth.
ReplyDelete1. Master, I dont think the voting thing was stupid...It would be good if you could open it up to all our friends...
ReplyDelete2. If it takes more than 1 visit so be it-I will do what is required...if the friends of the blog want it...
3. There are 44 facebook friends of the blog...
what do they think?
I will be at the RIBA for a couple of hours late on Tuesday. (The library is closed Mondays and Thursdays). Let me know if there's something I can look up while I'm there.
ReplyDeleteWhat is no longer stored at the RIBA library is apparently now co-owned by the V&A, thus I guess it's best to know exactly what you're looking for. It took me nearly 20 years to find a Peter Yates audio lecture that they held.

ReplyDeleteI am Mensforth, the humble assistant of the master, El Patron...I thank you for your offer...
Basically anything and everything to do with your wonderful dad's Kenton Bar Estate we would love to have and will up on the blog immediatly...obviously any new photos of the pyramid, the 8th wonder of the world would send us into raptures of extacy...
a thousand thanks
Mensforth
Jolyon - that would be a very nice thing to do. Any pics of Kenton Bar and esp. the pyramid is what we are after.
ReplyDeleteMensforth - probably the AJ (Architect's Journal) .. but without knowing when an article may have been written, we'd need to wade through them over several days. I will ask if they have any idea where to start. Jol
ReplyDeleteYou are most kind-even if you can put us on the trail I am willing to go down and spend the time unearthing the rosetta stone...if the master and the friends of the blog command...
ReplyDeleteHi Mensforth .. no pyr shots I'm afraid .. but found a huge amount on R+Y which I will now start to work my way through. In their archives, they have collections of photos under R+Y - these are worth looking through but require booking before a visit. If you email me, I will fill you in with what I've learned - and how you can search through their archives yourself. I probably wont go again for 2 or 3 month - but hope to look through their photo archives when I do. Jol
