Hendas lived down the bottom in Dunnykirk...He was also known as'anarchist tendancy' as he was into punk big style...he looked a bit like Rick Mayall(The young ones) and used to do a really hilarious dance out of the blue when we were hanging about which consisted of him pogo-ing(punk dance) about whilst snorting and snarling horribly which culminated in a most convincing epilectic like fit which ended up with him lying on the ground upside down like a stuck pig...(Can I also add that he used to pogo in a very unique way in that he placed the palm of his left hand on his forehead elbow bent with his right hand outstretched behind him fist clenched)...outside his house was a white wreck of a car which never ever went anywhere...someone sprayed the 'a' for anarchy circle sign on it...they also said they were going to do the same thing on the side his dog which was also white, but whether they did or not I dont know...ha ha ha!
Congratulations Hendas!...you earn the 'lesser mortals' award!

kenton bar football team 1974-75

Here is a photo I found during more extensive research in a library... I remember the football team played for the 'Bagnall Cup' and played 'derbys' v St Cuthbert’s and also v Mountfield, North Fawdon, Wyndham, Montague and Snow Street (we and everyone else always thrashed Snow Street at least 12-0-their home pitch was at an angle of 45 degrees...) Note the' flag pennants' which were inspired by the Leeds United strip from the 1973-74 season on the socks of some of the kids in the front row...these had the numbers of the players on. the 10 first team players are all wearing the blue top with yellow hoop:the' subs' are wearing... whatever! It looks like they must have won the Bagnall cup that year! Anyone recognise themselves or any of the players?... (The tecka is Mr Brownlaw, a true gentleman...)
