The lower feature is more likely a childrens slide although I don't remember one in this position - it may have been taken away by the time I was old enough to venture up to the top of the estate. Certain places around the estate had childrens slide and a few swings. The slides were built on mounds like this one not as free standing items. This one is in Fawley Green (or Beal Green) I can never remember which one is upper and lower - need to look at a map. The slide is the thin structure in the centre of the mound.

  3. It is so much a shame that the photo is blurred though...However the ramp is totally visible to the right of the pyry..a slight shadow is cast by the step pyry at the shops, one of only 3 step pyry's I think...
