New Kenton School

Took this photo from top bank on that little field above Hartburn Walk bungalows. The new school has been built in a totally new place, on the old fields, much closer to Kenton Bar Estate.
Old school has gone-anyone know what they intend to do with the original site?

  1. ...turn it back into playgrounds and fields.

The 6th Form College is staying, as is the north block, at least for a while. (There are several phases to the new building).

No Pool in the new build, they are pretty uncommon in new schools these days.

  2. Hi all, We recently viewed a 'house for sale' in Hazeley Grove, Kenton and wondering how the area is now to live in for a decent working family with kids? Any insights is appreciated before we make the 'move'. Many thanks.

  3. Hi Anonymous - I have not lived on Kenton Bar since 1988 when I left home so I cannot comment on how the place is now. I can tell you however that it is great for kids playing as there are basically very few roads and NO through roads on the estate making it very safe and pedestrianized

  4. Hazeley Grove was a real nice street 20 years ago-but that was 20 years ago-for example there there is a security camera at the shops now...

  5. Thanks Bosnian and Anonymous, appreciate your feedback. The area looked a bit run down when we went there, thats why the concern on the area. Dont want the kids to get mixing with the 'wrong type', if you know what I mean. Otherwise the house looked great. Confused!!!!

  6. Have a look at Kingston Park, Montague Estate( but only the Crossway area near the Peacock Pub and going east-round Wyndham School area or Coxlodge area(Jubilee Road)...Kingston Park is all private housing, the other 2 areas have some ex council housing for sale ...I am guessing they will be at the top end of your budget if you are looking at Kenton Bar Est, but that's my advice :)

  7. Also bear in mind the roofs need to be relaid every ten years or so to keep them watertight so best to ask when it was last done and look out for ceiling patches etc.
