Dedicated to Kenton Bar Estate and the Kenton Bar Pyramid. Situated to the north west of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Kenton Bar is a housing estate that is part of Kenton Ward in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is situated next to North Kenton, Cragston Park and Cowgate. It was the product of the architectural partnership Gordon Ryder and Peter Yates. The blog is particularly interested in the architecture of the estate and also to hear anecdotes from Kenton Bar residents past and present

the mannerless swine...
ReplyDeleteI concur with mein master...the brick wall is abhorrent, ghastly unt garish...it should be terminated with extreme prejudice...
ReplyDeleteWhich street is this please my good friends
ReplyDeleteKev,
ReplyDeletethis is Ryal Walk viewed from the very top of the estate...
You see that little grey post sticking up to the right of the 2nd pillar to the left in the foreground?...what do you think it might be!...
ReplyDeleteA water-hydrant/cut off post?
ReplyDeletecorrect Kev! Tis a water hydrant marker post-it should of had a 'plaque' on it with 2 numbers(from wikipedia):
ReplyDelete'Mounted on a small post or nearby wall etc., the two numbers indicate the size of the water main (top number) and the distance from the sign (lower number)'
This one doesn't as it has been vandalised(no doubt by bounders & cads from down the bottom)and only the plaque screw holes are visible as evidence...this I know as I went back to photograph it but didnt bother when I saw the plaque had gone... I do believe the bottom number(distance to water main) means the water main point is directly opposite the post, in this case due west(distance unknown-probably in the car park area...)
