RIBA exhibition
Only 10 days left to go and see the Studdon Walk/Laverock Place model, plans of electric houses and and much more...seize the day!
Dedicated to Kenton Bar Estate and the Kenton Bar Pyramid. Situated to the north west of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Kenton Bar is a housing estate that is part of Kenton Ward in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It is situated next to North Kenton, Cragston Park and Cowgate. It was the product of the architectural partnership Gordon Ryder and Peter Yates. The blog is particularly interested in the architecture of the estate and also to hear anecdotes from Kenton Bar residents past and present
I think you have put up the R&Y highlights here, much as I'd enjoy the rest of the exhibition I can't justify the time to go to it.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, but I am still glad I went...there is nothing to compare with seeing those wonderful things, plus the 4th picture of the 8th wonder of the world in the first person...I will cherish mein memories of that glorious day...
ReplyDeleteIt has closed its doors now.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what they will do with the wonderful model of Studdon Walk, the plans of the electric houses etc etc?...I will try to find out!
ReplyDeleteI imagine they will give them to Ryders, who will put them in a cupboard.
