The loneliness of the long distance runner

The blog received yet another email from the' another anonymous tortured soul ', our new regular contributor...yet another tale of horribleness, ghastly deeds and abject stupidity... Thank you ATS and keep them coming! Hello again. I remember me and a mate of mine from the green zone went to Rhodes in Greece when we were 18/19. We watched the locals closely and soon discovered that all greek old men smoked papastratos cigarettes. We immediately became smokers of these cigarettes and brought a load back to Kenton Bar Estate at the end of the holiday for good measure. Then we decided we were out of shape, and agreed to go for a daily run right around Kenton Bar Estate, starting at the number 8/9 bus terminus, running right round Hazeldene Ave, along the top of Kenton Lane, down the public footpath between Kenton Comp and the cottages and finishing off down the bottom by the step pyramid at Hartburn. drawing pins & bikes

The blog received yet another email from the' another anonymous tortured soul ', our new regular contributor...yet another tale of horribleness and ghastly deeds... Hello...I remember another time ,with my mate who lived in a split level. We were looking out the back windows down into the street, bored one afternoon(the 2 open plan top semi-open plan bedrooms without any central heating)which was his room. Bikes ride over drawing pins(t

Here he/she is wittering on about a Bonfire Night anecdote...most appropriate! 'I remember long ago me and a mate of mine decided to create the biggest bonfire ever-at that time they were building all the garage showrooms etc down on the Kingston Park Industrial Estate-so there was a load of wooden planks lying around the building sites-we began to 'collect ' them in the dead of night-we stored all the wood in my mates garage(a split level)-I tell you, we FILLED the garage with wooden planks-so, on beautiful Bonfire Night we assembled our glorious mega bonfire down in the cornfields across nearby Hazeldene Ave in the fields-without a shadow of a doubt it was the biggest, best bonfire ever-we had spent months and months on the project-it rivaled the new(at that time) organ
